個展「麗」(2006年・3月開催)
四季のある日本で、私たちは春を待ちわびます。それは、サクラの開花を待つことです。昔話にも多く描かれ、3月生まれの私にとってもサクラは特別な花。ずっと描きたいと思っていました。全国をあちこち巡り、たどり着いたのが「福島県三春の滝桜」です。樹齢一千年超といわれる日本一の紅枝垂れ桜。まさに、神宿る木です。樹の下には、お社が建っています。この樹との出会いは、福島の地に宿す祖霊の導きでしょうか。東北の冬、磐梯山、安達太良山から吹き下ろす寒風に空は澄み、開花する滝桜。南斜面に立ちその樹形、枝ぶりからこう呼ばれています。私たちはサクラの樹の下、陽光に色彩を愛で、月光で樹形を愛でながら宴します。
この趣を表現するために、今作でも "特殊蛍光塗料" を用い、作品に昼夜の2面性を持たせました。

Japan has four seasons which distinctly separated.Japanese people always looking forward to spring, and also the flowering of cherry blossoms.Cherry blossoms is special for me because I was born in March, and is also told in an old tale.So I wished to draw for long time.After traveling the whole Japan here and there, I found "Miharu Takizakura cherry tree(in Fukushima)".It is said that the tree might be over 1,000 years old and is called the most wonderful red weeping cherry blossom of Japan.It is so called that "sacred tree". There is the shrine stands under the tree.I think the encountering with this tree might be the spirit of Fukushima's guidance. In the winter of northeastern, empty becomes clear by the cold wind blown down from Bandai-san mountain and Adatara-yama mountain, and Takizakura blooms.It stands on a south slope and is called like this (taki:waterfall, sakura-sakura:cherry tree) from the tree shape and the branch outline.We amuse ourselves with party, loving color with sunlight and loving those shape by moonlight.
In order to express this effect, I used "special fluorescent paint" and gave the dual nature of day and night to the work.
It is the "cherry blossom" offered to my spirit of the ancestors. (the same, 6 works of Somei Yoshino)
